The North Star

I just decided-I love the stars SO much! This world gets so insane sometimes; so many things to do, places to see, everything to think about and figure out, and your own future coming down on you faster than a race horse. No matter what, though, the stars are always there. Maybe I forgot to do something, but that doesn't make the Big Dipper less bright. They seem so noble, divided from us, yet there for us, living to give us light on a otherwise dark night. Like many other people I know, my favorite is the North Star. It doesn't point perfectly to the magnetic north anymore, because our world was hit out of whack a little, but that just adds to its significance. It will always point to true north, even if our world is as crazy and messed up as it is. Even in the heavens, it is a source of constancy and steadfastness. All the other stars move, all the time, and only a genius or someone obsessed with starts (which I would feel you there :)) would know how or when. The North Star unites us all, though, because everyone can see it, except for the poor seals in Antarctica. It is always the same for everyone, and its integrity and light never changes.

Cape May Beach-probably my favorite place in the world. Isn't it gorgeous?

Sing Out Loud

This is a little poem I wrote. I was inspired by a LDS general conference speaker. Anyone know what I mean?

I see a song inside of you
As brilliant as night is cool.

I've heard your voice so beautiful
And this world is a little too dull.

So sing for me, before your voice is cracked and gone
You don't need a microphone, just be confident and shine!

'Cause this world needs everything you have,
Don't let your fear keep us the dark.

It doesn't matter what they say,
I've seen your song and it made my day.

It's not to fair to hide your light,
so sing for me.
